Naturally sweet
We are in Apulia, appellation area of Primitivo di Manduria, precisely Torricella, where Dalila and Emanuela Gianfreda manage the Antica Masseria Jorche. The winery was recently built in a modern and technically advanced style. The vineyards that surround it are young, around ten years old, and the estate also owns another 17 hectares that are 40 years old and more, a few hundred meters from the sea. Only native grapes are cultivated including Primitivo (70% of the total) and Negroamaro for the reds and Fiano Minutolo and Bianco d’Alessano for the whites. The grapes are entirely picked by hand and collected into baskets and every step of the winemaking process is organized to bring out the best quality possible.
We find not only a classic Primitivo di Manduria and its Riserva, but also the Dolce Naturale (Natural Sweet) version, that is very interesting.
