In the name of the father
The Canneddu estate is another example of the winemaking nouvelle vague in the area around town of Mamoiada. For over 30 years, Tonino Canneddu produced wine that was traditionally sold in bulk. Then in 2015 a change came when his young son Marco, who had studied winemaking at university in Oristano, decided to bottle the labor of their efforts.
Two hectares of some 60-year-old alberello trained vines produced 4,000 bottles of this Cannonau, Zibbo (Tonino’s nickname), which unites tradition, respect of nature and technical precision. No chemicals in the vineyard and spontaneous fermentation define this wine that has a bright future ahead of it.
