High altitude

The Colli di Castelfranci winery, founded in 2002 by the Colucci and Gregorio families, produces wines in the town of the same name in the heart of the DOCG Taurasi appellation. They have 20 hectares of vineyards planted with the native varieties Fiano, Greco and Falanghina for the whites and Aglianico for the reds. The vineyards are situated an at an altitude of 500-700m above sea level, making them among the highest in the area of Irpinia, and the altitude creates microclimatic conditions that give the grapes particular aromas and flavors. The vines are Guyot-trained and yield an average of 3kg per vine for a total annual production of 120,000 bottles.
The enologist is Carmine Valentino who with skill allows the wines to express what that land has to say.
