A simple sign of gratitude

The young members of the San Patrignano community have dedicated their best Sangiovese to enologist Riccardo Cotarella to thank him for his 20 years of (free) consultancy.

Some may wonder what may be behind the decision by the members of the San Patrignano addiction rehabilitation community to dedicate a wine to the famous enologist Riccardo Cotarella. The reason is simply that the president of the national enologists’ association and consultant to many prestigious wineries has, for the past 20 years, offered his expertise to the community free of charge. And to thank him, surprise him, they have dedicated to him one of the best wines they have ever produced.

This is a wonderful story of generosity and gratitude that has produced a truly well-made Sangiovese that does honor to the youths and their commitment.

Romagna Sangiovese Superiore Ventanni con Riccardo Cotarella 2016

Made from Sangiovese grapes and mature in barrels for eight months. The wine has an excellently concentrated, intense ruby color and an emblematically typical bouquet with an extremely clear scent of black cherry that duets with those of sweet spice and tobacco to underscore the wine’s youthful exuberance. The mouthfeel is warm, bold and wrapping with thick yet nicely composed tannins that usher in an impressively persistent finish.
