The salty Pigato Bio Vio

Riviera Ligure di Ponente Bon in da Bon 2016 produced by Bio Vio winery with Pigato grapes reminds on the nose of the aromatic herbs that the family farm cultivates.
“We produce aromatic herbs,” declared minimalist producer Almone Vio and, in fact, his family estate does cultivate and export almost everywhere sage, rosemary, laurel, thyme, marjoram, mint and parsley. But they produce also wine and the old folk in Genoa still say “Pigato della Bastia d’Albenga”, stressing the name of the location to indicate an ante litteram cru.
