Lo Triolet and the Pinot Gris from the mountains
Born from mountain vineyards the Pinot Gris by Lo Triolet, in Val d'Aosta region where Marco Martin has worked as viticulture technician at Regional Administration.
The small winery of Marco Martin is now 25 and is located in Introd, near Villeneuve, in southwest Aosta where the Martin family runs, together with the winery, a small farmhouse for guests made from a 1656 building. He is a great Pinot Gris specialist and some of his versions, especially those made in wood, are among the best in the region for this variety.
The idea behind this success has been to re-implant an old vineyard at 900 meters of altitude, substituting the petit rouge with a precocious variety like the pinot gris.
