Batasarro Statti, a powerful Gaglioppo

The passion for their land brought Alberto and Antonio Statti to profuse their energy in enhancing the indigenous grape varieties from Calabria, like this Gaglioppo Batasarro 2013.
The family of the Statti barons has been producing wine since 1700. The passion they have for their land has resulted today in their cultivating 100 hectares of vineyards and 300 hectares of olive groves.
The estate was founded in 1974 and today is in the hands of Alberto and Antonio Statti and while they continue to respect tradition by growing mostly native grapes, they are also paying more attention to innovation and improvement in winemaking technology. Their wines are well-made and nicely reflect the distinctive character of Calabrian grapes.
