Zanna 1997

There was little information on the weather but the winery considered this vintage to be an excellent one and enologist Carmine Festa gave it a rating of four out of five stars.
The color was a well-intact, oily ruby-garnet and the bouquet was again clear and showed no sign of reduction with its scents of red fruit and dried fruit and while the alcohol was only hinted at, the aroma soon flattened out. The attack of the mouthfeel was elegant, dry at the center of the palate and while the finish was elegant, it was not that long. The aftertaste was finer yet not as long as the 2000 and a bit short on contrast (even after breathing long). The drinkability was good.
