Vorberg 2004 Pinot bianco Riserva

A clear runner-up to the 2006 as wine of the night. What it lacked was that ' balance' one expects from a wine that is not that old. What I mean by lack of balance is that it had a very marked iodized and salty imprint that was so strong it tended to overshadow the fruit. The spicy and perhaps hydrocarbon components were intriguing and for sure this is a vintage that will continue to improve and evolve positively over the years. I look forward to tasting it again in a few years.
