This is a really great version, resulting from a decidedly positive vintage, but also from particularly skilful winemaking. It has a very intense, vivid and concentrated ruby colour, with purplish reflections. Its nose is intense , inviting and ethereal, with evident alcoholic notes that underpin the olfactory profile, highlighting the sensations of sour cherries in brandy, oriental spices, vanilla and tobacco. It is rich, monumental and complex on the palate, with dense tannins that enrich the powerful, tightly-knit fruit. The finish is very long and warming. This is a great Mediterranean red wine, to be served at 18°C, accompanying it with baked pasta with meat sauces, sartù di riso (Neapolitan rice timbale), or roast lamb.
