A blend of Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Malvasia Istriana, Ribolla Gialla and Picolit. Only the Chardonnay ages for three months in large barrels, the rest in stainless steel vats and sit on the lees for around a year. This is a great classic that in its early years is never redundant. It is a wine that ages very well, a formidable all-rounder and this 2013 is a serious wine, indeed. Its straw-yellow color is not too bold and the aroma is a bit austere, dominated by notes of tomato and exotic fruit with a distinct background of medlar and scents of white and yellow flowers. The mouthfeel has a strong attack but it is never too sweet thanks to a lovely acidity and salinity that make it easy to drink. The progression is excellent and the finish is one of rare elegance and length.
