Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 1974

This has a twilight, light brick color with orange reflections and while the aroma may seem to be evolved this is misleading. The bouquet has notes of mushroom, sweet licorice and cinchona extract. And the velvety mouthfeel is nicely upheld by a lively acidity. It does not hold up long in the glass but the initial impression is that it is well-made and very expressive.
