An unnaturally bold red garnet with a slight glaze, the aroma immediately verges on the bitterness of raw licorice, the scents are ripe and expanded. The range of scents not outstanding and stops at the obvious level of a vintage Barolo. The taste is totally a different story, full of tannins which have settled down but are always evident, with a nice tartness, fully satisfying body.
