A textbook winemaking year, everything was perfect with wonderful temperatures ahead of a harvest that donated a beautiful aroma to the wine. The color is incredibly intense pigeon blood ruby. The bouquet needs quite a bit breathing before it can fully express itself, at least this was the case with the bottle we had. Once it has opened it has amazing intensity and complexity, with the fruit having classic red and black scents: cherry, black cherry, currant, then blackberry and blueberry. Also blended in are chocolate and balsamic mint sensations. The mouthfeel is very bold but not thick thanks to delicate and elegant tannins and that classic Vaio component; acidity. This all makes this wine perfect and refreshing, ensuring a long life. The aftertaste is opulent, fat and intense but always elegant and never nauseating.
