A classic example of a wine of this vintage that when it ages resembles wines made in different regions and from different grapes. It was probably the extremely high temperatures leading up to the harvest that 'unified' certain initial aromatic element creating a '1997-type'. The color is extremely impenetrable, very rich and intact. The aroma has some scents that are more evolved than the 1988 with an intense presence of blackberry and cherry jam with nuances of fruit under spirits. This is followed by a bouquet of underbrush and leaves and a slight hint of dried prunes. The tannins are again excellent, very polished and immersed in the wine's glyceric vein. As always, the Vaio Armaron's acidity works wonders and offers quite a fascinating progression that saves the finish from warm notes making it very deep.
