This has an intense and bright ruby color, outstanding for a 34-year-old wine made basically from raisins. The aroma is decidedly evolved and a little off. There is beeswax, dried mushrooms and flowers followed by a cherry jam in spirits and in the end some tobacco and mulberry. The taste is diluted by the alcohol that is evident from the beginning and permeates through the progression which is of chocolate. The tannins are perfectly settled while there is an aftertaste of mulberry brush in the graceful and non-muscular finish. This is probably a wine that is on the decline but which still exemplifies the enormous potential of this winery. This was the first year the wine was made in collaboration with Masi.
