This is the wine's first vintage. It has a gold color that is a little too sharp (Guargigli told us this was most likely due to a pre-fermentation maceration that got out of hand) and even the nose is excessively 'horizontal', in other words not too compact, with notes that are a bit heavy, more oxidized than ethereal, of dried flowers and fruit in gelatin. The taste is firm and 'squared' (an aspect all the vintages share), made from a Trebbiano grape that is good, substantial and savory, lively but not dynamic. It is in a slow, very dignified decline.
