A lovely season with the right amount of winter rain, a mild spring and a cool summer, except for two hot weeks in August. The Merlot was harvested in September, the Cabernet Franc beginning on October 10.
52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Franc. Matured for 15 months in barriques, in part new. An intense and dark ruby color. Wonderfully ripe fruit stands out in the aroma, similar to vintage 2019, with scents of blueberry and currant, along with a note of Nordic forest, some light yet intriguing spice and graphite. The mouthfeel has a rare beauty despite the muscular nature of the wine. The tannins are very fine and an unexpected acidity make this a pleasing and elegant drop with a perfect, major-league finish.
