A normal, very good year, slightly warmer than 2016. Temperatures declined in the latter half of August allowing for a cool harvest that began September 21 for the Merlot and continued until the end of October.
50% Cabernet Franc, 36% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. Matured for over a year in barriques, some new. A dark, ruby-red color. The intense and wrapping nose has scents of raspberry and blueberry, balsamic hints, graphite and spice creating a lovely complexity. The mouthfeel is even greater, very flavorful, with a background of freshness that accompanies the lovely and mature tannins. A masculine punch, juicy and elegant. Rich yet not exaggerated, a faceted wine.
Bottles produced: 8,400.
