A very wet winter with ample snowfall. The season was generally late. The Merlot ripened excellently (harvested in mid-October) as did the Cabernet Franc (harvest October 25-30), while the ripening of the later harvested varietals Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot was incomplete.
60% Cabernet Franc, 35% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petit Verdot. Matured for seven months in barriques, some new, and then in concrete tanks. A dark, ruby color. The nose is very penetrating with notes of blackcurrant, raspberry, slightly herbal with vague earthy hints. The mouthfeel is very fresh, initially leaning more towards the acidity than the tannins, although the tannins come back strongly in the finish. A flavorful, fruity and dense drop.
