Tenimento dell Oer Merlot 2012

This wine is on a whole different level. It is made by the historic estate of Mainrad Perler estate in Arzo, south of Lake Lugano in the Mendrisiotto foothills. The estate is one of the largest of its kind with 22 hectares of vineyards. The wine is a Reserve that ferments in oak vats and ages in new barriques for 18-20 months. It has an intense red color and a complex and intense aroma with notes of blackberry, currant, cherry and graphite. The mouthfeel is fresh, austere and elegant and has a nice persistence.
