Taurasi 2012

This Aglianico varietal ages in barriques and large barrels for three years. The wine has a garnet-ruby color and wrapping aromas with notes of spice followed by those of black cherry preserved in alcohol, light balsamic tones and hints of thyme and blood orange. It has a pronounced mouthfeel and while the flavor is youthful it is not aggressive with a dynamic balance between the tannins and acidity and a well-structured body that allows it to be taut and very persistent. A wine that promises great things.
