The Sangiovese grapes come from the estate’s oldest vines and the wine ages for 50 months in tonneau barrels that have already been used two or three times and only 1,200 bottles are produced a year. The ruby color is slightly garnet and the clear and intense aroma has classic notes of red fruit, some tobacco hints and floral scents. The refined flavor has settled tannins with a lovely acidity to support it, while the mouthfeel is progressive and slightly smoky in the finish that has an excellent persistence.
