San Sisto Classico Riserva 1997

It is extraordinary how this 1997 has aged maintaining its freshness and capacity to please. The aroma has scents of tropical fruit which blend well with more spicy notes, especially the grassy ones like hay, cut grass and underbrush. In the finish there are again sensations of cinnamon and honey along with a balsamic streak. This wine promises to improve with age, something I can surmise having tasted the 1995 and 1993 vintages, two great years for a wine that does not seem to surrender to the passage of time.
