San Leonardo 1988

The season started wet and was followed by a hot summer, a perfect combination. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Carmenère, 10% Merlot. Matured in French oak barriques that are both new and used two and three times. A very intense, garnet color. A wrapping and broad nose with ethereal scents of leather, balsamic sensations and those of blueberry, humus and tar completing a complex bouquet. A full, rich and warm mouthfeel with a nice balance and long persistence. The first great vintage.
