This has been part of the Antinori catalogue for years but has been often overshadowed by their Cervaro and Muffato. This 2015 vintage is quite interesting despite the hot year. Irrigation is permitted at this estate and this has had a favorable impact in the wine, which is fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel, sitting six months on the lees. It is a bend of Procanico and Grechetto with important percentages of Pinot Bianco and Viognier. The different grapes were vinified in a slightly different way in order to exalt their individual characteristics and their connection with the land.
The wine has a straw-yellow color with green reflections and in the complex aroma the fresher notes of the Grechetto are nicely integrated into a fruity framework of white peach and medlar which is pleasing and never too sweet. The mouthfeel has a nice texture with an intense attack nicely upheld by the salinity more than the acidity and a flavorful finish.
