A very hot year resulted in a wine with an opaque, deep prune-garnet color. The aroma is initially hesitant before opening with warm spicy notes and dark ones of juniper. The mouthfeel is full and fresh with notes of tamarind and dark fruit while the finish is that of the late 1990s and dried by the wood. Despite the slight change in style, this is a wine that establishes an expression of Sicilian wine that goes beyond fads and fashions.
