Made mostly from Sangiovese with a small addition of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and aged in barriques and large barrels. Still a great wine even if it is on the decline. The toasted and smoky nose has sensations of rhubarb, dates and cherry tomato, aromatic scents of laurel and rosemary. The mouthfeel is fresh and maintains a vigorous acidic backbone.

Chiaroscuro, a visceral, luminous and cerebral nature. The pairing is with Rembrant , The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Tulp or, in general, any of his chiaroscuro works which go so well with a wine that has charm and declines without every losing those seductive hints of light.
