This ‘Riecine’ replaced the estate’s Chianti Classico Riserva starting with the 2010 vintage and, as we said before, represents the estate’s response to the new Grand Selezione top classification. This is an astounding wine. While its complexity still needs to evolve (we are confident it will), its fruit is so pure and the framework of the tannins so fine and spread out that the wine recalls a Roumier Chambolle. The mouthfeel is indeed Burgundy-esque, nimble and amazingly scented (citrus, violet, hibiscus tea and a tad smoky). While it will most certainly improve and will more than likely become a great wine, it is already magnificent today.
