A Sangiovese varietal made with grapes from a vineyard half of which faces northern part of the valley towards Barberino Val d’Elsa, while the other half looks over at Castellina. The wine is made in temperature-controlled stainless steel and cement vats and ages for around 30 months in 500-liter oak barrels and then for a further six months in the bottle.
This is a very classic wine beginning with its bouquet, where fruity cherry scents give way to more evolved and complex ones of leather and tobacco with a light smoky hint. The mouthfeel has a medium fullness and is flavorful and saline, with lovely tannins and a finish that has a good persistency.
