This was the first vintage of Primo Franco. The wine’s antique amber color is clearer than the previous vintage and despite a difficult growing season, with a rainy July and August, it is incredible how amazing the wine still is after 31 years. The passage of time is evident in the aromas of apple and dried peach, aromatic herbs mixed with acacia honey. The effervescence is long gone and left more room for the sweetness that dominates over the acidity. The rating reflects the extraordinary long life of this wine.
