A blend of 70% Aglianico, 15% Barbera del Sannio and 15% Piedirosso from a single vineyard that ages in 225-liter chestnut barrels for nine months. The wine is not stabilized, filtered nor clarified and has a deep ruby color while the bouquet has dark notes of violet, Marasca cherry, prune and cinchona followed by scents of tomato leaf, sandalwood and nuances of humus. The mouthfeel is distinctly fresh and salty and its elegant flavor has nuances of earth alternating with smoky notes that make this a broad and ethereal wine. Only 2,200 bottles were made.
