An equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for the most part from the Grand Cru villages of Chouilly, Cramant, Oger, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize and Montgueux for the Chardonnay and Bouzy, Verzy, Verzenay, Aÿ and Ambonnay for the Pinot Noir. The wine is made in stainless steel vats and sits on the lees for nine years. The 2006 harvest gave both the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir intense and fruity traits and in the glass the wine has a fine effervescence and a bouquet of yellow flowers, hay, mirabelle plum, verbena and candied orange peel. The mouthfeel has some grapey tones that play on fruit notes with a palpable sensation upheld by a spot-on acidity and a relaxed and flavorful finish with an aftertaste of apricot brioche and lemon custard.
