Harvest this year came early due to an alternating climate that saw a hot spring followed by a cool and rainy June, a normal July and a dry and very hot August. Overall the vintage was considered good but the estate did not consider a classic one.
The wine has a transparent, ruby-garnet color with particularly luminous fuchsia reflections. The bouquet has finesse with scents of violet, rose, apricot, licorice, mint and a pinch of chalk. The tannins in the mouthfeel are compact yet sweet and perhaps are a bit too settled for a young top Gattinara. The finish is modulated. A wine of the finest quality and unbridled drinkability.
