A splendid sweet white made from Verduzzo grapes with a small addition of Rhine Riesling. It is produced by Alvaro Pecorari, a very skilled Friuli winemaker who turns out only two thousand, half bottles a year. It has an antique gold color, intricate aromas, the result also of presence of muffa nobile (noble rot) on the grapes. There are scents of saffron, candied citron, apricot jam, caramel and a tad of vanilla. The flavor is sweet but delicate and not nauseating and the finish is subtle, elegant, very persistent.
