Montrachet Grand Cru 2003

This wine is the exact opposite of the previous one. It has a bold, dense and almost oily golden-yellow color, the product of an excellent harvest. The bouquet is centered on ripe, jammy fruit and shows no sign of oxidation and the candied fruit component is rich and assorted. The mouthfeel has a sense of roundness, balanced by a non-aggressive acidity, and is full-bodied, bold and in many ways gratifying thanks to its imposing structure. I would have preferred a little more finesse but it is amazing just the way it is.
