A blend of 85% Sagrantino and 15% Merlot of which some 14,000 bottle are produced a year. The wine has an intense, bright ruby color while the aroma is clear and intense after a little breathing the aroma. The bouquet has notes of blood orange, kirsch and mulberry along with slightly smoky sensations. The tannins in the dense mouthfeel uphold it and make it nervous, while the acidity is light and the progression and texture are good. The aftertaste is of spice, fruit and ash and is decidedly intriguing.
