Splendid even in its colour - a deep garnet red - and with scents that ranged from brambles to bilberries, pomegranate and officinal herbs (sage). Its flavour was velvety, full-bodied, mouth-filling and smooth. Its length was superb, as was its exuberant presence in the glass. Undoubtedly one of Italy’s best Bordeaux blends.
