    A long and hot summer resulted in the grapes reaching full maturity already by the beginning of October. The Sangiovese in the bend has risen to 90% and the wine aged for 20 months in new and used barriques, only 1/3 new. Today the wine has a dark, garnet-ruby-red color and the aroma is above all balsamic with spicy notes and hints of licorice and chocolate. The mouthfeel is a tad rigid with distinct and almost scratching tannins but which are well-framed in a rich structure. The finish is spicy and long.
