Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 1990

Like for most of Italy, this was a very good year, even if at times overrated, and received a full, five-star rating from Carmine Festa.
This wine was like the 2001 but 11 years older. It had a very compact aroma with notes of black olives and laurel and was still far from reaching its peak. Underneath its impressive structural qualities is all the elegance of the Teramo hills.
