Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 1975

This wine was pure emotion in a bottle. It had a garnet color with an orange/yellow edge and an evolved, relaxed and ‘autumnal’ aroma with strong notes of viccotto (a typical vino cotto from the Marche region, ed.note) and smoky sensations. The mouthfeel was dominated by a smokiness and the tannins limited themselves to keeping the wine level. The finish had an amazing aftertaste of viccotto and cola. While it showed its age this wine still send shivers down my spine.
