Made from Montepulciano grapes grown at the Alanno estate and matured on the lees in small wood barrels for 12 months and then another six months in stainless steel vats. The color is a dark but not opaque ruby color and the aroma has a fairly strong note of lacquer but it does not overshadow the fruity sensations of black cherry and the lively tones of damp earth. The mouthfeel is a bit contracted but the finish is flavorful with a note of tobacco slightly related to the tannins.
