Mirum 2006

There’s no doubt about it: this is a very fine Verdicchio indeed. It’s when you taste stars like this one that you realise how great the potential of the Matelica zone is. It’s right up there with the greats: the nose is explosive and extremely intriguing with its polyhedric complexity, and the palate is no less interesting. If I really must find fault with it, I wouldn’t have minded if it were a little more supple and lively.
