One of the best Merlot in the world, including Pomerol. It has everything needed to drive your senses wild: a very intense and luminous red color; and an explosive aroma of Marasca cherry, coarsely ground black pepper and Vignola durone cherry. The intensity is outstanding, many-sided and the way it moves is the glass is incredible. The mouthfeel is that of a great Syrah from Cote Rotie but without the sweet softness, in fact it is quite energetic yet rigid. The finish is incredibly long. A national treasure that fortunately has yet to attract international attention, thanks also to the ridiculously low amount made which does not make it commercially appetizing. So good it is frightening.
