A cool and exceptionally wet year that benefited only those who waited to harvest late and were rewarded by a very favorable autumn. A dark eggplant ruby color, opaque, not very complex chromatically. The nose takes a long time to open, at first it is dark and dense. With breathing a phenolic/cumin spice bouquet emerges along with one that is weedy/smoky and they both shower down on a very fresh black cherry. The attack is very rich but not thick, vital for this wine, and anything but rough. On the tongue it is fresh and fruity/bitterish, as well as spicy, without any trace of wood and with tannins that are not abundant but magnificent. In the finish the phenolic aspect returns and gives it depth. It still needs a few years.
