Mazzamurello 2007

A sweltering end of August (with highs over 40°C) was offset by another ideal autumn. Its color is very dark and very shiny, once again an eggplant black, while the nose is again has that plump black cherry enclosed by a trace of mentholated wood and spice (clove) that expands the spectrum without covering anything. Once it breathes a nice scent of venison emerges. For those of us who from Montepulciano expect structure above all (the real one that is recognizable for the consistency of its color and bouquet and for its balance) this 2007 is a must. The palate, in fact, is massive, very tannic but with more muscle and a tad more of depth. It also needs three to four years.
