The result of a cold and wet season (but with an excellent October) which perhaps explains why it is difficult (at least for us) to read its territorial expression. The color is dark ruby, young and fresh, with a very complex yet very focused bouquet: roasted red pepper, iron, blood, smoked, spicy with a very pulpy black cherry in the background. The taste is excellent and stands out for its vitality, rare for such a wine, and tannins as always magnificent. Its succulent flavor in a way recalls wine from the northern Rhone. The finish is soft, weedy/smoky, almost like a great Bordeaux from the right bank but not as delicate. If you're looking for structure then take three points off our rating, if on the other hand your looking for territorial expression you can add a couple. Good for at least another five years.
