    Severe and elegant, with a long life and not as expensive as you might think. In a nutshell this sums up this splendid red from Valtellina made from Nebbiolo grapes (locally called Chiavennasca) grown on terraces that are literally craved out of the mountainside. The color is a garnet-ruby while the bouquet has scents of violent, sour cherry and licorice. The flavor is very distinct yet elegant with some youthful tannic accents.
    Serve at 18°C and pair with classic Pizzoccheri or alla Valtellinese.
