This is a little wine gem. It is made from Olivella and Piedirosso grapes along with and for the most part one that is locally called ‘Marsigliese’ (Grenache perhaps?). The wine has a ruby-garnet color and a wrapping, spicy (pepper and cinnamon) bouquet that also has scents of currant and vanilla that create a complex and fine aromatic profile. The mouthfeel is full-bodied with thick, non-drying tannins. All-in-all very good and intriguing.
Serve at 18°C with baked Laticauda lamb or grilled red meat.
