The garnet is even more intense than before and the edge remains brickish. The aroma is closed, dark, almost tarry, smoky, austere with notes of licorice and scents that are slightly reduced, perhaps due to the greater texture. The mouthfeel is full and soft, warm due to the higher level of alcohol and while the tannins are nicely held in check, this is not as easy to drink as the others. The finish is long but bitter.
